Electric charge is a property of subatomic particles like electrons (negative) and protons (positive). Opposite charges attract, while like charges repel, as described by Coulomb's Law. Objects with equal numbers of protons and electrons are neutral, while an imbalance creates positive or negative charge. Charge is measured in coulombs (C), with one electron having a charge of approximately −1.602×10⁻¹⁹ C. Charge can be measured directly with an electrometer or indirectly with a galvanometer.
